Letter from our Director
Dear Parents,
Your child is born with potential. Our job is to ignite and nourish that potential so that your child can become the person he or she is meant to be. To accomplish this, in our supportive learning environment, we help your child develop cognitively, physically, socially, and morally. Specifically, he or she will learn critical thinking and academic skills that will last a lifetime. At the same time, we also provide a foundation of social and global awareness that will enable your child to become an effective member of the world community he will eventually enter.
At Oak Farm Montessori we will maximize your child's potential. That is our pledge and our passion. From three months through 15 years, at every step of the way, we provide a nurturing environment with rigorous intellectual challenges that will help develop a lifetime love for learning, appreciation for the arts, our planet and a respect for others while honing communication skills that are ever more important in our rapidly changing world.
Join us for a tour of our classrooms. You will feel the support, patience and care our teachers provide; creating a pressure free, yet stimulating comprehensive learning environment that enables our students to fully develop their inherent gifts. In our classrooms, students develop critical thinking skills and learn to apply abstract concepts to concrete situations, how to see past the obvious and to look beyond the classroom for answers.
Our students love coming to school (and so do our parents!). The students love the environment and the challenges and the sense of success that comes with each new learned skill and acquired bit of knowledge. Our parents love the caring, nurturing environment and that fact that they are not only an important part of the Oak Farm community, but that they can actively participate in their child's education, employing the skills they have acquired in our parent education and community building programs. Our parents are passionate about the importance of an excellent, well-rounded education and are actively involved in the process. There are ample opportunities for our parents to participate. From classroom observations and parent-teacher conferences to informal monthly "Coffee with the Head"conversations and a selection of adult and family functions and parent education seminars.
By working together, we help prepare your child to grow into a confident, informed, and socially responsible citizen of the world.
On behalf of all of us at Oak Farm, we invite your child and your family to join our community.
Best personal wishes,
Judith Cunningham
