Message from the Volunteer Coordinator
Dear Parents:
We want to welcome you to the 2010 / 2011 school year. I can remember the first time I stepped through the doors of Oak Farm Montessori School back in 2001. As a new staff person, I grew right along side our parent community. Our first Spring Clean Day had 100% parent involvement and we had a blast. Now 10 years later, the school continues to grow because of your involvement and dedication.
As the Volunteer Coordinator it is my responsibility to recruit volunteers for special school events, school projects, teacher or community needs. I will be working closely with the Oak Farm Montessori Parent Organization Team Representatives and teachers to assess the volunteer needs as well as communicating these needs to you, our parent community. Volunteers help to make our school a success whether through your time, your talents or your treasures.
Oak Farm Montessori School is a nonprofit school and depends on the involvement of parents to help maintain the daily functions of the school. We are strong due to our generous and active parent community. We would like to thank each and every one of you who set aside your time and financial support to help your child's school to succeed. Your support last year helped us to host successful events such as the Winter Wonderland Gala and Silent Auction, Acoin Drive and Annual Fund. With the monies raised we were able to support our scholarship fund, purchase materials for the classroom, provide additional teacher professional development programs and send the children on many educational field trips. We are thrilled to see so many of you coming on board and being a part of this!
Thank you to the Oak Farm Montessori Parent Organization Team Representatives, our staff, parents and grandparents for your continued support. It is our goal to have volunteers represented from each of our families, with 100% volunteer support from the whole parent community. I am dedicated to the implementation of a new program that will provide 100% volunteer opportunities to all persons who complete the Volunteer form. We appreciate all that you do to support Oak Farm Montessori School. With all of us together, we are able to provide a wide range of cultural activities and educational programs that continue to enrich our school. Each parent/guardian and grandparent who completed their Volunteer form and returned it to Oak Farm, had their information entered into the Oak Farm Montessori School Volunteer database by a parent volunteer and the Volunteer Coordinator. Opportunities to volunteer will center around the information that you completed on that Volunteer form.
As opportunities for volunteering arise, the Volunteer Coordinator will use the Volunteer Data base, school email blasts, phone calls and newsletters to contact the parents /guardians or grandparents who signed up to volunteer for that specific function. If a person does not have email they would receive a phone call and/or a Monthly Volunteer Needs list in their child's tote-bag . All volunteer needs will be posted through the Monthly Volunteer Needs Link as well.
If you are interested in volunteering for a specific need as it is advertised, please respond to the Volunteer Coordinator via email, phone, or text.
Please click on the Volunteer Guidelines link to review the guidelines for all volunteers and then proceed to the Monthly Volunteer Needs for a list of Volunteer Opportunities that we currently need your volunteer support for the 2010 / 2011 summer and beginning of the May 2010 school year or click on Volunteer Opportunities Details List for details of all volunteer jobs for the 2010 / 2011 school year.
Thank you for playing an active role in the parent community which is vital to our school's success. We look forward to another rewarding year with all of you. With your involvement, amazing things can be accomplished.
Sincerely,
Patty Fulk
