International Students

Global Connections at
Oak Farm Montessori School

Oak Farm Montessori School (OFMS) proudly welcomes students from around the world, enriching our community with diverse cultures and perspectives. As part of our Portrait of a Graduate, citizenship is a key trait fostered through meaningful travel experiences and global connections at the Secondary level.

Our high school invites international students to explore Northeast Indiana while sharing their own cultural heritage, creating a mutually enriching environment for all. As the AFS website notes, this experience is centered on personal growth, cultural exploration, active global citizenship, and a sense of belonging.

AFS Global Families: Open Your Home to the World

Becoming a Global Family means welcoming an international student into your home, forming lifelong connections, and embracing a new culture together. From sharing meals to local sightseeing, every moment offers a chance to grow, learn, and experience the transformative #AFSeffect.

Nicole Lowe, an OFMHS AFS Host Parent, shares:
“Hosting a foreign exchange student has been one of the most rewarding experiences for our family. Our children gained a new sibling, shared our American traditions, and enhanced their conversational Spanish by connecting with a Spanish-speaking student. She has offered us a different perspective of the world.”

Oak Farm Montessori School is certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to issue student visas for international students in grades K–12.
