Oak Farm Montessori Middle School Program instructional design is individualized by students under the guidance of “teacher guides”. The goal is to provide hands-on, project-based learning with adult-world connections. At Oak Farm Montessori, students learn in a supportive, small-class environment that values independence, curiosity, and collaboration. Our adolescent program emphasizes both concrete and abstract exploration, encouraging students to apply scientific knowledge through projects, research, and community-based experiences.

Oak Farm Montessori School is seeking a passionate, inquisitive, and collaborative educator to join our Middle School team as a Science teacher for the 26-27 school year. This position focuses on teaching 7th and 8th-grade science, while also engaging in interdisciplinary, project-based learning that integrates real-world applications and Montessori principles. There is also the opportunity to teach Algebra.
The ideal candidate will foster curiosity about the natural world and help adolescents develop scientific thinking through observation, experimentation, and discovery. Science at Oak Farm Montessori encourages hands-on exploration, lab-based investigations, and connections between science, math, and other disciplines in an engaging workshop-style environment.
Candidates must have experience working with adolescents and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Secondary Science Education or a scientific field
Minimum of two years of teaching experience with adolescents
Experience designing and teaching interdisciplinary units of study
Demonstrated enthusiasm for inquiry-based, hands-on learning
Collaborative spirit and interest in co-teaching and cross-disciplinary planning
Lifelong learner who is passionate about helping students connect science to their everyday lives
Demonstrate interest and enthusiasm in working with adolescents.
Have leadership abilities, flexibility, and be able to assume responsibility.
Be able to listen to others, as well as to direct.
Exhibit professionalism in all situations.
Be able to continue personal and professional growth and education through workshops or seminars.
Working at Oak Farm Montessori:
Full-time annual work agreements are typically written with 180 (minimum) work days
Compensation is competitive and based on credentials/experience
