School Sous Chef

We are seeking a candidate for a sous chef. This position is open for the 2026-2027 School year. Join an innovative educational environment that supports students as creative, collaborative, critical thinkers, citizens and individuals.

We are in search of a school sous chef to join our community. This is a full time position. The school sous chef is responsible for assisting the school chef with planning, purchasing, inventory, managing of supplies, and preparation of the school lunch program. The sous chef also aids in making sure the kitchen is up to safety standards and is responsible for delivering lunches to our buildings on campus.

Additionally, the sous chef helps support after care for primary aged children in collaboration with Oak Farm Montessori faculty.

Candidates for this position will have a minimum of two years of formal culinary/quantity foodservice management training or commensurate experience. Culinary preparation experience or education in healthy, fresh and/or organic meal preparation and techniques is preferred, but not required. It is the expectation that the school sous chef be or become safe serv certified.  We are seeking individuals demonstrating a track record of strong collaboration, communication, compassion and competence in working with children within a child-centered philosophy.  A great candidate should be a lifelong learner that enjoys preparing healthy, balanced meals with a drive to inspire children and be inspired.
