About Steve:

Officer Steve Juillerat has dedicated much of his life to serving his community through law enforcement, emergency services, youth mentorship, and school safety. His commitment to protecting and serving others spans nearly two decades in multiple public safety roles.

Steve served as a Reserve Police Officer for 20 years and has dedicated 19 years as a firefighter, serving as both an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). In July 2026, he graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, further strengthening his commitment to professional law enforcement and public service.

He is a Certified School Safety Specialist and a Certified School Resource Officer, bringing extensive training and experience to the school environment. Steve currently serves part-time with both the Avilla Police Department and the Converse Police Department, where he continues his dedication to community policing and public safety.

Beyond his professional career, Steve believes in investing in the next generation. He spent six years coaching youth football and baseball through the local PAL Club, helping young athletes develop teamwork, discipline, and confidence both on and off the field.

As a School Resource Officer, Steve is passionate about building positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community. He believes that trust, communication, and visibility are key components of creating a safe learning environment where students feel comfortable seeking guidance and support.

Steve and his wife have a daughter who attends the school, giving him a unique perspective as both a parent and a School Resource Officer. Their family also includes two German Shepherds and two horses. Outside of work, Steve enjoys fishing, golfing, visiting amusement parks, and spending quality time with his family.

Throughout his career, Steve has remained committed to serving others with integrity, professionalism, and compassion while striving to make a positive impact on every person and community he serves.
